This is a lead steer. Spring calves behind him. They are penned every week while young. to keep from getting wild. They follow this gentle lead steer anywhere. These calves weigh between 500 & 600 pounds. Now 70,000 head of cattle and 3000 horses are on this ranch. cattle are not sold until they are 5 years old. The ranch has 1,000,000 acres, is 61 miles long.
