This article features Luis Fuentes Sr. Luis Fuentes Sr. was a respected business owner and pioneer of the Kingsville community. He was born in Mexico, his family immigrated to the United States when he was a child. He was a hard working citizen who created his own opportunities and owned several respected clothing businesses in South Texas in the first half of the 20th century.

Maria's mother, Francesia Curel Gomez, her mother was from Kingsville and her father from Shiner, TX. Both came from large families, Francesia had eight brothers and sisters and Trinidad had nine.

Maria's father, Trino (Trinidad). Trino graduated from St. Edwards University in Austin with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting. He was involved in the Knights of Columbus, attended St. Martin's Catholic Church and was elected City Commissioner for the City of Kingsville. He served seven terms for fourteen years. Trino Gomez died on May 1, 1986.

Margie's Father, Mucio B. Garza taken prior to America's entry into World War II in the Army. FDR had implemented a plan to have men enlist for a one year term, this was before the Pearl Harbor attack. Mucio again enlisted after Pearl Harbor in the Navy.
