Earthen dam at Rancho La Union near San Ygnacio in Zapata County. Built in 1850s by laborers under the supervision of Jose' Maria and Manuel Maria Uribe. Thirty feet high and about 300 feet long, it provided water for livestock on the Martinez Ranch, where even the oldest people do not recall it ever drying up.
