Corpus Christi, Texas. “Nueces Bay Causeway was opened to traffic in late 1950 after being under construction for 1.5 years at a total cost of 2.5 million dollars. 8,000 cars use this two mile long causeway daily. 13,400,000 pounds of steel and 9,000 cubic yards of concrete were used during the 332,432 manpower hours to complete this causeway.”
