The Tamalada Festival is an educational, family-friendly event that is free and open to the public. The festival brings together presenters from our South Texas communities and Texas A&M University-Kingsville to celebrate and education the history, contributions and cultural value of corn, tamales, and tamaladas.
Tamalada Tales includes oral interviews and photos collected by students and faculty in the Sociology department focused on favorite memories and traditions of tamales, tamaladas, or any holiday food tradition.
The collection contains oral interviews and digital photographs.
The collection is arranged chronologically by year.
