Jose Inocente Perez and his wife, Francisca Saenz moved to the Concepcion area about 1852 from Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. They had thirteen children. Inocente purchased his first real estate in 1862, 160 acres of land. The land was situated on the south side of Conception Creek near present day Concepcion, Texas. Later he would purchase an additional 730 acres. The family made their living by farming and ranching. A son, Teodoro Perez married Ricardia Salinas. Rafael Salinas, father of Ricardia Salinas Perez, had married Jane Wilson Parker. They had two children, but only the daughter, Rachel, survived. Rachel later changed her name to Ricardia. Rafael died and Jane was forced out of Concepcion by the town's fathers. Ricardia inherited land from her father and she and Teodoro Perez lived on the land and had seven children. A daugher, Rafaela Perez, married James Columbus Saunders when she was sixteen and he was almost fifty. They had a ranch in Brooks County and a house in Hebbronville.
Within the collection are photographs, Deeds of Trust, correspondence, copies of newspaper articles, and handwritten accounts of the history of the families.
The documents are in three folders and the 37 photographs are arranged as given.
